Nigerian women urged to leverage deployment of 5G

Nigerian women have been urged to leverage the deployment of the Fifth Generation (5G) networks in the country to deepen adoption of domain names.

This call was made by the President and Founder, Domain Name System Women Nigeria (DNSWomen Nigeria) on the sideline event at the 2023 DigitalSENSE Africa forum on Internet Governance for Development held at the Welcome Centre Hotel, International Airport Road, Lagos on June 8.

She also urged women especially those venturing into any Information and Communication Technology (ICT) industry to ensure they have the Nigeria's domain name under the .NG country code Top Level Domain.

According to her, they stand a chance of having a seamless challenges when they key into .NG.

This, she said, transcends the services and quick resolution of challenges if any.

She pledge to assist anyone, especially women and youths facing challenges in optimising their .NG domain names.

The event attended by various women group include Maureen Chigbo, President, Guild of Corporate Online Publishers (GOCOP) and the publisher, RealNews Magazine; Barr. Mrs Amaka Onumonu, Secretary of Catholic Women Organisation (CWO) at St. Jude, Mafoluku-Lagos, and Tinuade Oguntuyi of Internet Society (ISOC Nigeria) at the 2023 Nigeria DigitalSENSE Forum on Internet Governance for Development (IG4D).
